Looking back, I realise my practice has never followed a linear path. It has unfolded through recurring questions, about belonging, memory, materials and the ways we relate to the living world.
My earliest works emerged from a desire to challenge systems of extraction and displacement, shaped by my experiences growing up in Mexico and later by migration.
Over time, that impulse evolved from resistance towards regeneration.
The questions remained the same, but my approach changed.
Rather than asking only what is broken, I became increasingly interested in how art might help rebuild relationships between people, place and the more-than-human world.
Today, these works are organised into three interconnected chapters that reflect different ways of exploring that journey. Myth & Memory — The stories we inherit, Materials — The world we touch.

Myth & Memory
Stories shape the way we understand ourselves and our place in the world. Here, myths, folklore and ancestral traditions are approached not as relics of the past, but as living frameworks that continue to influence how we relate to nature, one another and the landscapes we inhabit.
Growing up in Mexico, I was surrounded by the cosmologies and symbolism of Mesoamerica. Later, Ireland introduced me to a different mythic landscape, where Celtic traditions offered new ways of understanding land, memory and belonging. As my own journey unfolded through migration, questions of identity expanded beyond geography, encouraging a deeper reflection on ancestry, cultural inheritance and the stories that shape our sense of self.
Rather than searching for a single origin, these works bring different traditions, landscapes and lived experiences into dialogue. They invite us to consider belonging not as a destination, but as an evolving relationship with place, memory and the living systems we are part of and to reflect on which stories we choose to carry forward, transform or leave behind.

Materials
From reclaimed objects to natural pigments and biomaterials, materials are never simply mediums. They carry ecological and cultural histories of their own, becoming collaborators that invite a slower, more reciprocal way of making.
