I’m a Mexican-Irish contemporary artist whose practice deeply explores environmental conservation and sustainability through art, particularly large-scale murals and installations. I grew up and studied visual arts in Nuevo León, Mexico, where I held my first solo exhibition in 2009. After moving to Ireland in 2010, I’ve continued to exhibit extensively, with my Irish solo debut in 2012. Since then, I’ve exhibited my work internationally in the USA, Turkey, the UK, Spain, India, Sweden, Brazil, Italy, France, and beyond, collaborating with galleries, brands like Bacardi, Guiness, Smirnoff, Tik-Tok, Marlet Group, embassies, and organizations such as Greenpeace, United Nations NY, Amnesty International to name a few. I’m a co-founder of the Minaw Collective, Ireland’s first all-female and non-binary street art collective, since 2012. In 2022, I was profoundly honoured to receive the Ohtli Award, the Mexican government’s highest recognition for Mexicans living abroad. Currently, I’m developing an off-grid Art & Research Centre a personal, long-term project in the jungle of Tulum, Mexico. Designed as a space for ecological experimentation and intercultural artistic exchange, the centre aims to support residencies, workshops, and collaborative projects that connect art, sustainability, and community. I divide my year between Ireland and Mexico, developing public art initiatives and bridging creative practices across cultures and geographies. I’m at a stage where I’m eager to explore new creative roles, collaborate with others, and grow in new directions. While I value my independent practice, I’m always looking for opportunities that bring purpose through teamwork and exciting meaningful projects. My artwork is about finding peace, awareness & joy, combined with elements of nature. Empowerment is my drive, the revolution doesn't start outside, but inside each one of us. ​ -Kathrina
